Open Graph
Open Graph tags are small pieces of code that tell social platforms and chat apps exactly how your link should look when someone shares it.
In plain English
Paste a link into WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Slack and a preview card appears: image, headline, short description. That card isn't guessed — it's read from Open Graph tags in your page's head.
Set them and you control it. Leave them empty and the platform grabs whatever it can find, which is usually your logo and a stray sentence.
Why it matters
A shared link is a small advert you didn't pay for, and the image does most of the work.
A clear 1200×630 image with a readable headline can double the clicks on the exact same link. It takes minutes to set and lasts forever.
How it works
- Set og:title and og:descriptionWritten for a human scrolling a feed, not for a search engine.
- Set og:image1200×630, high contrast, no small text.
- Add Twitter card tagsA near-duplicate set for X.
- Test the URLUse each platform's debugger — they cache previews aggressively.
